How To Overcome the "Weight Loss Plateau" And Achieve Your Ideal Weight Easily And Quickly

If you have tried losing weight, you have probably experienced what is commonly termed "weight loss plateau". This happens when the weight loss you experienced in the first few weeks of a new exercise or diet program starts tapering off as time passes. So in the third week and beyond, instead of losing more weight, you find that your weight remained the same and may have even increased. At that point in time, you don't seem to be able to lose any more weight. You have hit the "weight loss plateau".

Feelings of disappointment and frustration start to surface. What have you done wrong? What have you missed? What can you do now? Actually, there is a reason why this happens and it has got to do with how your body reacts to what you consume and what activities you engaged in. You have probably done the same sets of exercises as well as ate the same types of foods over and over again during those first few weeks when you were losing weight. As a result your body got accustomed to your diet and exercise routine. When that happened, your weight loss methods failed to bring any more results and you reached the weight loss plateau stage.

So how do you jump start your weight loss program again? If you want to go beyond this "weight loss plateau", you need to change your diet and exercise routine. Your brain hates routine and like changes and stimulation. So you've got to give it what it wants.

Here are three methods you need to follow to get out of the weight loss plateau...

1. Ditch calorie-counting

If you have been counting calories, you could be doing your weight loss efforts a dis-service. When you count your calories, you basically limit the intake of calories to an abnormally low level. When you eat low calorie foods, there is no incentive for your body to increase your metabolism because it has no need to burn more calories. The result is that your metabolic rate always remains at a very low level. The paradox is that you don't want your metabolic rate to be at a low level, you need high metabolism in order to burn more body fat.

So, one way to move past the plateau is that you need to forget about calorie counting and eat enough good food so that your body is forced to keep your metabolic rate at a high level. Your body needs fuel to burn fat, and it can get that fuel only from foods, strange as it may sound.

2. Try different exercises

If you have been avoiding exercises altogether or are only doing one type of exercise, you may not get past the weight loss plateau. You may need to perform "higher intensity" workouts daily in addition to "low intensity" workouts. And instead of being afraid of exercises, try to love them. Try different exercises to strengthen your body in various ways. You may even want to listen to your favorite music while working out if you are not already doing it. This kills boredom and makes exercising more fun. And remember that more muscle mass means a higher metabolic rate too.

3. Supplement your diet with herbal fat burners

These natural fat burning supplements are usually made of potent, fat burning ingredients that can increase your body's natural fat burning abilities. They don't give you any negative side effects and are also good for your overall health. But you need to do your own due diligence and only buy those that are truly effective and endorsed by customers and preferably approved by medical doctors.
